Peace Lutheran Church

Worship is an important part of our life at Peace.  It roots us in the love of God found in Jesus Christ and through our praise of God, we learn to love our neighbors.

We offer a variety of worshop opportunities, both weekly and seasonally.

Centering Prayer

Centering Prayer is offered every Wednesday morning at 8:00 AM. A quiet form of meditation, it offers a way to focus on God's divine presence and pray the Scriptures. Prayer lasts between 30 and 45 minutes.

Worship on Sunday

There are two worship opportunities provided each Sunday, 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Both services follow a typical Lutheran style and content. Both offer an opportunity for worshippers to hear the Word of God read and proclaimed. Both offer weekly Holy Communion.

The 8:00 AM service is a small intimate service that is relaxed. More contemplative in style, the service does not contain music and usually lasts for about 45 minutes to an hour. Please note that on certain festival days and special occasions the 8:00 and 10:00 services are combined at 10:00 AM. On such occasions, it will be noted on the calendar.

Between worship services, Christian education is offered for all ages.

The 10:00 AM serice is a full service of Word and Sacrament. Featuring clasical organ music, the service is celebratory in nature and feeling. Larger in attendance, the service features congregational singing and participation. Worship usually lasts between 75 and 90 minutes. Following the 10:00 service, beverages and snacks are provided for people to stay and fellowship.

Lent at Church and Home

lent1Lent is a season of preparation for Easter. It begins on Ash Wednesday and continues for 40 days (excluding Sundays). Often marked by repentance, self-denial, giving up things, and extra work, the real heart of Lent is the call to renew our relationship with God. Lent got it’s beginning as a time to prepare people for baptism. This insight might help us understand the goal of Lent: renewal. All of the disciplines, activities, studies, and worship of lent is meant to lead us to this one act: renewal.

Mid-Week Lenten Worship

This year for Lent we will be gathering for prayer and study each Wednesday, February 29 through 28, in Lent around the theme Christ in the Strangest Places.  A light soup supper will be offered at 6:00 and worship will begin at 6:45.
