Pastor's Blog

A week or so ago, I was on the prowl for some new music.  My criteria: music with heart, soul, and meat.  No fluff allowed.  It's got to have a creative edge that awakens my creative spirit to get me excited.  It can't just make me feel good, it's got to move me, enlighten me, feed me, and challenge me.  Needless to say, this criteria means that most mainline music doesn't classify as good music in my humble opinion.  I realize this assessment of good music is very subjective, but oh well, we all have a right to be subjective sometimes.

One of my regular stops on my prowl is Church of the Beloved (they've produced two albums that are really good that can be downloaded for free from their site). While they didn't have anything new, they did have a link to a band named The Opiate Mass.  They've got three albums out that are absolutely stellar.  And you can download them for free!!!  It's one of those rare times that I get really excited about new music and can't stop listening (especially the 3rd album).  I was so impressed that they even got this tightwad to make a donation.
