About our Church

Peace Lutheran Church is a member of the ELCA denomination. In following Jesus Christ, we take seriously his command to love God and love others. This is the core of our faith life.
- In worship we express our love for God.
- In service we care for others.
- In education we grow more deeply in our faith.
- In youth we nurture the next generation.
- In groups we support, encourage and care for one another.
Together we are Peace Lutheran Church.
The best way to learn more about our congregation is to visit and talk with the people you meet. You are always welcome and encouraged to contact our Pastor, Bryan Schneider-Thomas, with any quesitons you may have.

Our Beliefs
At the core of our beliefs is faith in the Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In our worship, our communal service, and our individual lives, we strive to serve and honor this God.
History
Peace Lutheran Church was begun as a mission of Trinity Lutheran Church of Conklin--LCMS in 1958. Over the subsequent years it has grown into a thriving congregation of the ELCA that is rich in tradition, looking to the future, committed to ministering in the Sparta area.
Face of Jesus
Last weekend a group from Peace traveled to Detroit to catch one of the last days of an art show entitled Rembrandt and the Face of Jesus. It was better than I could have imagined. Rembrandt is a master and his images have a depth that reaches out from the surface. But there was a surprise in the exhibit that I wasn't quite expecting.
